  Thanks for stopping by my website and spending a little time learning about me. I’m sure you’ve figured out by now that I have a lot of experience in a wide variety of areas, and my clients are genuinely happy with my work. (Which, I must say, is extremely rewarding and somewhat humbling.)

I spent the first 16 years of my career doing many different things in the office furniture industry, and then I hung out my own shingle in 2004. My work now is split between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds, and between the two of them I’ve probably done just about everything you can do in communications! I love helping clients figure out how to get their message across in a creative, clear and compelling way.

The name of my company was chosen quite deliberately, because it reflect my approach to marketing and its role in any organization. The “mind” comes first, because I spend time understanding what you want to accomplish, where you want to go, and how your organization functions. Only then, after we have a plan and a goal, do I get creative with the “marketing” part. Unless you have money to burn, your marketing should be connected to an organizational goal. Otherwise it’s just pretty fluff that doesn’t accomplish anything. Mind Over Marketing puts things in the proper order, and that’s why my clients are successful when we work together!

FROM A QUALIFICATIONS STANDPOINT

I have a Bachelor’s Degree with a group major in Business and Sociology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.
I am a qualified member of the B.E.S.T. consulting pool that has been established by the Flint Funders Collaborative.
I have 16 years of experience in the office furniture industry.
I started Mind Over Marketing in 2004.
